Subway Surfers Saint Petersburg – Running Through a Snowy Holiday City
Saint Petersburg in winter has its own kind of charm, and Subway Surfers Saint Petersburg captures it well. Snow piles up along the train tracks, lights glow around the stations, and the whole place feels like it’s gearing up for Christmas. Of course, you don’t really get time to admire the scenery—there’s a train heading straight at you most of the time.
This version retains the same endless-runner gameplay people already know. You’re sprinting down the rails, switching lanes, jumping barriers, and grabbing coins when you can. Only now does the city look colder, brighter, and much more festive.
The update arrived on November 30, 2017, becoming the 75th location in the Subway Surfers World Tour and the 78th release overall. The series had already stopped in Russia once before, in Moscow, but Saint Petersburg has a slightly different feel. A little calmer at first glance… until the speed kicks in.
Controls
The controls are pretty straightforward. Your character runs forward automatically, so the real challenge is reacting fast enough when obstacles appear.
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Move left | Swipe left / Left arrow key |
| Move right | Swipe right / Right arrow key |
| Jump | Swipe up / Up arrow key |
| Roll under obstacles | Swipe down / Down arrow key |
| Activate hoverboard | Press Space or double-tap |
While running, you’ll notice a few things scattered across the tracks:
Coins – collect these to unlock characters, boards, and upgrades
Keys – handy if you crash and want another shot at the run
Power-ups – items like the Jetpack or Coin Magnet can seriously boost your score
One wrong move—maybe you mistime a jump or drift into the side of a train—and that’s it. Run over. Start again.
A Winter Theme That Changes the Mood
Mechanically, it’s still the same game. But visually? It feels different the moment the run starts.
Snow covers the tracks and platforms, lights stretch across parts of the railway, and the city background has a holiday look. You almost notice the details while running… almost. The trains arrive too quickly for sightseeing.
Even the characters get into the spirit:
The Inspector is dressed like Santa, chasing you down the tracks
His dog looks suspiciously like a reindeer instead of a police partner
Trains and railways carry winter colors and snowy textures
Underneath it all, it’s still classic Subway Surfers. Fast reactions, quick lane changes, and constant near-misses with trains.
But the snowy setting gives this stop on the World Tour its own personality. After a few runs—when you finally beat your previous score—you’ll probably say the same thing most players do.
Alright… one more run.
